Privacy Policy

Lorekeeper is operated by Befring Creatives (“we,” “us,” “our”), based in Norway. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication details (via Supabase Auth, including Google OAuth if you choose that option).
Your story content. Everything you write or create in Lorekeeper — characters, world details, scenes, outlines, and conversations with the AI Assistant — is stored so the app can function. This is your content. We don't read it, review it, or use it for any purpose beyond providing the service to you.
Usage data. We use privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand how the app is used — which pages are visited, how often people return — so we can improve the product. This data is aggregated and does not track you individually across other websites.
Feedback and bug reports. If you submit feedback or a bug report, we store what you submit, your account email, and the page you were on, so we can respond and fix issues.
How your content is processed by AI providers
Lorekeeper's AI Assistant is powered by two third-party providers:
Anthropic (Claude). We use Anthropic's commercial API to power the AI Assistant. Under Anthropic's API terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train their models, and are automatically deleted from their systems after a short retention period (currently 7 days), used only to detect abuse and ensure service reliability.
Voyage AI. We use Voyage AI to generate embeddings — a technical process that allows the AI Assistant to find and reference relevant parts of your story. We have opted out of Voyage's data retention and model training programs, meaning your content is not stored by Voyage beyond what's needed to generate the embedding, and is not used to train their models.
Neither provider has access to your account information — only the text content needed to generate a response or an embedding.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't use your story content to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's.
- We don't share your story content with other users (unless you explicitly use a future collaboration feature, which will be clearly opt-in).
- We don't display ads or share your information with advertisers.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL), a reputable infrastructure provider with industry-standard security practices. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure, and you should read the note below about Alpha-specific risks.
Alpha-specific note
Lorekeeper is in active development. While we take care with your data, software in active development changes quickly, and on rare occasions data may need to be reset or migrated as we build. We recommend keeping a backup of anything irreplaceable in your manuscript outside of Lorekeeper during this period. This note will be removed once Lorekeeper exits Alpha.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete your account and associated content, or ask questions about how your data is handled at any time by contacting us at daniel@lorekeeper.ink. If you're located in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and data portability.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify users via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
